One of the many ways we strive to meet the needs of our customers at M.A. Jewelers is by offering professional custom design services. Each and every custom jewelry item we create is a truly exceptional, heirloom quality piece. There are times when people have a very specific design in mind, or have gemstones, precious metals or other sentimental jewelry items they would like to use to create a new piece, or just want to express their own creativity and individuality though a handcrafted piece of artisan jewelry. That is when an experienced and talented custom jeweler, like the ones we have at M.A. Jewelers, can be extremely helpful. Our knowledgeable sales staff, along with our custom jewelers, will help guide you through the entire design process.
There are three main types of custom jewelry design:
One of the first things that come to mind when people think of custom design is the ability to create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. Custom design allows us the opportunity to expertly craft a beautiful piece of art for our customers. Whether you have thoughtfully sketched out your own design, have photos of a few pieces you have been admiring that you would like to merge together, or you have an idea that you’d just like to talk through with our custom jeweler and knowledgeable sales staff – we can definitely help!
Custom jewelry design gives you the opportunity to watch exactly what you’ve been dreaming of come to life.
Couples who have their hearts set on finding wedding and engagement rings as unique as their love for each other absolutely adore the idea of custom jewelry design. It is extremely romantic when couples work together to sketch up designs for their wedding rings. This not only ensures that no one else will have a ring exactly like theirs, it also gives the couple the opportunity to include a few little details that hold special meaning for them such as a symbol of some kind.
Custom jewelry design also gives people the freedom to take pieces of jewelry that they may not care for and turn it into something truly amazing! For example, you can take a ring that your Grandmother gave you, use all of the stones and metal to preserve the sentiment of the ring, and make it into something you will love and enjoy wearing. Just because a piece of jewelry is outdated or isn’t your style, doesn’t mean it has to sit in your jewelry box gathering dust. You can take the outdated jewelry and transform it into a stunning work of art.
When you gather up pieces of jewelry that you are not wearing and bring them to our custom jeweler, you not only have the opportunity to design jewelry that you will cherish for a lifetime, you are also able to create the piece for a great price! If you have gemstones and some of the precious metal to be used in the jewelry, then you are saving a lot of money on your one-of-a-kind creation. The piece will also be very sentimental to you since you have an enormous amount of input regarding the design and you are taking something old and giving it a second chance at life!
If you’ve been married for a long time, you might notice that your engagement and wedding rings are looking a little worn and not as striking as they were the day you were married. Another wonderful thing that a custom jeweler can do for you is to breathe new life into your well-loved jewelry pieces. Even if the piece wasn’t as structurally sound as it should have been when you first bought it, you can be sure that after our jeweler refurbishes and rebuilds your piece, you’ll be left with an heirloom quality piece of jewelry that will be cherished by you and generations to come.
What does restoration involve? Well, it honestly depends on how worn your piece is. Sometimes just creating a heavy custom shank, re-tipping and re-engraving ornate details can get your jewelry looking brand new again. However, the best way is to use your gold and stones and let the custom jeweler craft a brand new piece that looks just like your original item – only much better.
So what can you expect once you decide to have a custom piece of jewelry designed?
